- Licenses for ONVIF Support on Vivotek VAST 0 people found this helpfulThe need to license to add ONVIF cameras to Vivoteks VAST is somewhat annoying. The ONVIF experience is supposed to bring an open source feel to the camera industry however Vivotek prefers to keep their VAST NVR closed unless you purchase a license to add ONVIF cameras. This actually has turned off my customers and they are now deploying Blue Iris. They don't feel it's right to have to pay to add a camera to an NVR just because it's not part of that OEMs ecosystem. The VAST product is good, not excellent and honestly BI is a better product once configured correctly.
