The M7016 16-Channel Video Encoder & Camera Station Software with a 16-Base License from Axis Communications includes the M7016 Video Encoder that offers high-quality video and efficient integration of CCTV analog cameras into a powerful IP-based video surveillance system. It is suitable for small to medium-sized installations, within retail for example. It can simplify migration to network video without upgrading existing camera systems. The encoder can be used as a standalone unit or mounted in a 19" rack. It offers one H.264 and one Motion JPEG stream per channel at full frame rate (30 fps) in all resolutions up to D1 (720 x 480 NTSC or 720 x 576 PAL). The H.264 video compression format drastically reduces bandwidth and storage requirements without compromising image quality. Motion JPEG is supported for increased flexibility.

The included Camera Station Software meets the needs for efficient surveillance of small to mid-sized installations, such as retail shops, hotels, schools and manufacturing sites. The software client can be installed on any computer, enabling remote viewing and control from anywhere on the corporate network or the Internet. An intuitive user interface with flexible live-view layout, site maps, powerful event configuration, efficient alarm management and responsive PTZ control makes it possible to effectively manage the cameras in the system. Quick investigation and retrieval of evidence for safe and secure export is enabled by intuitive timeline visualization and an efficient video search. By defining an area of interest you can quickly search through vast amounts of HD recordings. H.264 compression and advanced camera-based video motion detection enables high-definition video for identification even if bandwidth and storage are limited.
