HID’s pivCLASS RKCL40 contact, plus contactless dual interface reader is suitable for use in security areas meeting the FIPS-201 criteria for both “Controlled” and “Limited” access. When used with HID’s pivCLASS Authentication Module (PAM) or OSDP-compliant strong authentication controller infrastructure, the pivCLASS RKCL40 reader ensures the authenticity of presented cards, confirming they are genuine, unaltered, and have not been lost or cloned. Additionally, in Card Authentication Key (CAK) mode, it can read any PIV-based card with a contactless interface that includes a CAK certificate. In PIV+PIN mode, it supports on-card matching of a PIN along with the validation of the PIV Authentication Key certificate.
