GE Security S7712D-EFC2 MPD Data Repeater, SM, CAN

The S7712D data transceivers provide two-way transmission of multiprotocol data. A convenient rotary switch prvides selection of the input/output data format. This link also features the unique data translation function that allows input of one data format and output of a different format. The S7712D provides four new data functions: (1) It acts as a repeater to extend the operating distance of an S7711D; (2) It provides drop-and-insert capability to a linear data system with up to 32 nodes; (3) It can be configured as a redundant point-to-point system; (4) It can be configured as a self-healing ring with up to 32 nodes. the S7712D links are available as standalone modules or rack cards. The rack version is intended for use with the 515R1/517R1 rack mount card cages. The SMARTS™ diagnostic technology provides an extensive array of system status LEDs. The integrity of the data paths can be tested with a built-in data transmission test generator. It is not necessary to connect to an external data device.
