- New to IP cameras 0 people found this helpfulI tried to get a local camera/alarm company to help me do my install but they were too busy to help me. I am pretty handy at running cables and have some knowledge of networking. The overall setup was easy, but did take a lot of time. I built all my cables and did a very clean installation where I even tacked down the cables. The NVR was pretty simple to figure out once I realized that it needed a VGA monitor hooked up to see the needed user interface. The pdf file on the CD really helped. The web access does not do the basic configure. I have yet to start working access to the NVR from my cell phone. This is where I am really weak and require outside help to make it work. I only have two cameras connected so far but have already seen on some display where the CPU was running at >90% at times. I do not know how it will behave once it is under full camera load. I've got my fingers crossed, but so far things are OK. The unit is somewhat louder than expected as there are a couple large fans to extract heat.
