Bosch D298S Detector Base
- Low-profile modular design
- Addressable application
- Data In and Data Out terminals
- Easy head removal for cleaning and servicing

The D298S Master Detector Base Detector Base are used with smoke and heat detector heads to provide early warning fire detection for life safety and property protection systems. The D298S are 24 VDC basesThe D298M provides individual addresses on the FACP data expansion circuit and accepts the D285/D285TH Photoelectric Smoke Detector Heads, the D286 Ionization Smoke Detector Head, or the D603, D604, and D605 Heat Detector Heads. It connects to the D263 Photoelectric Smoke Detector or the D263TH Photoelectric Smoke Detector with fixed temperature(135°F [57°C]) heat sensor. It also acts as the master in a slave circuit consisting of up to 19 D287 or D288 Two-wire Detector Bases with D285/D285TH Photoelectric Smoke Detector Heads, D286 Ionization Smoke Detector Heads, or D603, D604, or D605 Heat Detector Heads. The D298S needs a 3 kΩ end-offline resistor (P/N: F01U008725) to complete the circuit and provide supervision. The D298S has a built-in POPIT to provide individual addresses on the FACP data expansion circuit and accepts the D285 Series Photoelectric Smoke Detector Heads and the D603, D604, and D605 Heat Detector Heads. When used with the D285 Series detector heads, the D298S indicates Chamber Check trouble to the control panel through the POPIT bus. The Chamber Check trouble indication appears on the keypads as a fire trouble. These detector bases use the PAM-4 Relay Module to provide two Form C dry contact auxiliary outputs. Removing a detector head from an active polling circuit sends a trouble signal to the control panel, but does not interrupt the polling circuit.
