VTX5900 Falcon 5.8 Ghz Transmitter

The VTX5900 from Trangobroadband is a high performance Falcon 5.8 GHz Video/Audio transmitter with 12 user selectable channels. The Falcon PLUS transmitter offers two dynamic modes that are the data pass through mode and the energy saving standby mode along with stereo audio transmission.The VTX5900 integrates the latest technology along with user-friendly options to offer a wireless solution that was designed with the system integrator in mind. It is capable of line-of-sight ranges up to seven miles by using 31dB DSS dish antenna, the Falcon PLUS receiver offers features that make it much more than a wireless video system.

The VTX5900 system transmits either stereo audio or mono audio with two Virtual Wire contact closures. It also has a data pass-through mode that transmits RS232 data at rates between 1200 and 9600 baud; with the optional LC-485/422 daughter card it has similar provisions for transmitting RS422 and RS485 data. The VRX5900 features a rugged, powder-coated, all-weather aluminum enclosure that comes with all necessary mounting hardware, ready right out of the box for the most demanding outdoor environments. The two flanges and an SMA-type connector provide a watertight and weatherproof seal for all power and antenna connections.

I have not hooked it up yet as this is new construction and you cannot have electronics in a building before the drywall goes up, but it was easy to select and arrived on time and when we asked for help to see if we could use RG6, they were helpful. What is not to like about S-V.com :)
