Companionship with animals

SAMSUNG's Guide Dog school was established to help the visually impaired both in the workplace and at home. Through loving canine companionship and assistance, Korea's visually impaired are able to live more active and independent lives.

Figures by fields in 1999

SAMSUNG's contribution towards community activities in 1999 was US$72.3 million, equal to 0.08 percent of SAMSUNG's annual sales and 29 percent of its profits before taxes. This amount far surpasses the expenditure levels of most other domestic and overseas companies. In 2001, SAMSUNG's expenditures in community relation activities were equivalent to approximately US$1.07 billion.
